Another house fire in Suva has left the National Fire Authority (NFA) reeling with grave concerns.
Early yesterday morning at Taka Place in Samabula, a family lost all their belongings after their two-bedroom house, located on the top floor of a three-storey house, was destroyed by fire.
The total number of structural fire incidents so far this year has increased to 67 compared to 90 for the same period last year.
“The NFA is urging and pleading with the public to take heed of our advice and exercise care within their homes to avoid property fires,” Authority chief executive officer John O’Connor said.
This house fire incident is the third that has taken place within a week since Sunday.
The fire crew arrived at the scene in time to prevent the fire from spreading to neighbouring houses.
