Despite a difficult few years, the property market in Fiji looks to be defying international market trends.
Other markets such as Queensland’s Gold Coast, have incurred horrific losses, with property sales in luxury residential estates stalling and others selling at well below original purchase price.
However a similar project on the shores of Nadi Bay, continues to deliver strong positive results.
Just last week, Naisoso Island achieved a significant milestone in $50 million worth of sales at their Peppers Naisoso Island resort.
Unfortunately for Fiji, it is widely known that previous large-scale developments have suffered in turbulent economic times.
This context presents managing director of Naisoso Island, Bob Lowres with a source of motivation to and sharpens his determination to maintain a clear focus to achieve the goals of the Island.
Mr Lowres said, “We’re doing absolutely everything we can to develop the best project in the South Pacific – even the little things that people don’t immediately notice”.
“We’ve spent tens of millions on the Island’s infrastructure.
“We’ve raised the Island so it’s now 4.5 metres above sea level, we have a beautiful white sandy beach, perfectly smooth roads and we spent $8m on a bridge with a 50-year guarantee”.
This commitment and perseverance is resonating strongly with both local and international buyers.
The Naisoso Island residences, private freehold land blocks on almost 2000 square metres, are almost completely sold out and are a clear indication of investor confidence in the Island.
One buyer who asked not to be named, said, “We were interested in the project right from the beginning but we wanted to wait and see, so to speak.
“But now that Naisoso is really starting to move along with houses built and people already living there we felt comfortable purchasing and we’re excited that we have”.
Mr Bob Lowres and his team have demonstrated great vision with Naisoso Island and as the Island continues to grow with more and more construction, the passion and vision are now clear to all who set foot on the Island.
“When the Island is complete, we’ll be a prime example of what Fiji is capable of – a unique and picturesque haven offering unprecedented levels of privacy, prestige and luxury. But to be honest, it’s already clear right now”.
