The Fiji Human Resources Institute (FHRI) awards night paid tribute to the country’s outstanding HR personnel at the Shangri-La Fijian Resort on Saturday evening and topped off the FHRI’s sixth annual convention at Cuvu.
The Senior HR Practitioner’s title was awarded to Ravindra Singh, HR general manager of the Bank South Pacific (BSP).
Mr Singh thanked his dynamic team and highlighted his competitive nature and contempt for deceit as attributes to providing excellent HR services.
Douglas Pharmaceuticals HR and Training Supervisor Sandiya Prasad scooped the inaugural Young HR Practitioner of the Year award.
“Without a team it is very difficult to achieve what you want in life and I thank all the members of my management team,’’ Ms Prasad said.
FHRI president Balbeer Singh said their strict regulations saw many nominations be dropped for not meeting their rigid requirements.
However he revealed plans for additional categories next year to pump up the competition.
“Next year we will add on an award for the best Human Resources practicing organisation team,” Mr Singh said.
Every year we will try and add on something new, which will be a bit more exciting and challenging for not only those in the HR organisations but also the organisations in Fiji.”
