Apia: The Samoa Government is sending a seriously hurt police officer to New Zealand for treatment.
The officer was attacked last week by a rock wielding man after he and a colleague had gone to investigate a domestic dispute.
A police spokesperson says the dispute involved a man who had attempted to burn down the couple’s house.
Assistant Commissioner Leaupepe Fatu Pula says the officer has internal injuries after being hit on the head with a rock.
He was released from hospital on Monday but the Government has given approval for him to be sent to New Zealand for observation.
