A municipal council, in collaboration with a local faith-based youth group, cleaned up part of Nasinu town of litter.
Special administrator of Nasinu Town Council, Mosese Kama, said 40 youths from the Jesus Christ Dispensary Church, Nasinu, on Easter Saturday helped clean up Kanace Road and Daniva Road and the front area of Morris’ Hedstrom Supermarket in Nasinu.
Mr Kama said the day-long exercise was part of the council’s initiatives to work with the community in helping make Nasinu a healthy and clean place to live and work in.
“It is not just about cleaning up one of the council’s ward but, to show care and support of the cleanliness of our neighborhoods and town,” he said.
“The cleaning up was also one of the council’s achievement targets in their corporate plan for this year,” he added.
Mr Kama thanked the group for its collaborative effort. He looks forward to having them again whenever the need arises.
“Nasinu Town looks forward to receiving such help from other organisations and residents lending a hand in helping Nasinu manage litter well,” he said.
