Outrigger on the Lagoon  Fiji Resort and Spa general manager Peter Hopgood will now also be overseeing the operations at sister resort Castaway Island Fiji.
This change in management  has come after the Outrigger Hotels  Hawaii officially bought out shares of Geoffrey Shaw in the two resorts.
Mr Hopgood said with this change,  his role in the resorts will grow.
He said staff training at Castaway Island Fiji was one of the things he would be looking into.
Staff of Outrigger on the Lagoon Fiji are easily one of the most admired group among resorts on the Coral Coast.
Mr Hopgood’s contribution to Outrigger on the Lagoon and the Coral Coast community has been exemplary.
He said community tourism remained his focus and he would be encouraging the sister resort to further invest in this.
The two award winning resorts are now owned by Outrigger Hawaii’s Kelley family.
The family bought out Mr Shaw’s shares in Outrigger on the Lagoon Fiji and completely acquired Castaway Island Fiji from him.
