What happened:
Suva remains unbeaten after the third round of the Fiji Sun/Skipper Tuna National Football League yesterday.
This was after the capital side beat Rewa 1-0 at the ANZ Stadium in Suva.
Suva drew first blood in the 29th minute after skipper Samuela Drudru scored from a header.
Rewa failed to break through the Suva’s defence and could not provide striker Iosefa Verevou with quality feeds.
The second half saw an improved Rewa side but the Marika Rodu-coached team failed to hit the target.
All in all, both the hosts and the visitors put on a strong game but Suva held on to defend their fort.

Star turn:
Drudru led by example and is now top try-scorer in the league with 4 goals.

Big play:
Gurjit Singh –coached team put on a great performance for their home crowd.

Comment:
Gurjit Singh was pleased with his boys after they won their third consecutive match in the league.
“We have accomplished 3 for 3 so I am very pleased with the team. Of course there are a few players who still need to improve on their game but overall it was a good game,” he said.
Marika Rodu was disappointed with the outcome.
“We lost possessions and missed a lot of opportunities. We were too impatient with the ball and it proved costly for us in the end.
Rodu added that while he was disappointed with referee Finau Vulivuli’s control, they would not lodge a complaint with the Fiji Football Association.
In the Youth match, Rewa’s Under-20 team thrashed Suva 9-0 in the curtain-raiser.
