What happened;
Defending champions 4R Electrical Ba failed to defeat a 10-man Rewa in the Fiji Sun/Skipper Tuna National Football League match at Govind Park, Ba yesterday.
And despite both teams giving their very best on the field, shots at goal remained way off the target.
Ba’s prolific striker Osea Vakatalesau, recovered in time from his injuries from the match against Navua, but was heavily marked by Rewa defenders.
Both teams had their share of pep talk from their respective coaches at halftime, which saw the match intensify in the second half.
Rewa’s Ratu Luke Lomasalato was sent off in the second half after bagging two yellow cards.
However, this did not deter the focus of Rewa players, keeping the pressure on.
Ba coach Yogendra Dutt said Rewa prepared well for the game.
“I’m happy as both teams gave a gallant performance,’’ said Dutt.
Rewa coach Marika Rodu applauded his men for a gallant effort.
“Unfortunately we did not utilise the chances we created.”
