The Northern Division scooped most of the top awards at the Fiji Police Force excellence awards held at the Police Academy in Nasova last Friday night.
Not only did it take the best division for 2013 it also took out the Community Post of the year in Saqani Community Post and the Seaqaqa Police Stations was recognised as the station of the year.
The North was also recognised for achieving their business plan for 2013.
Police Constable Inia Cagilevu of Saqani Community Police was named the Community Policing officer of the Year.
This was for his effort in steering the Nautosolo Youth Club in Naboutini where they were engaged in yaqona farming. After three years, the club managed to buy a three-tone truck and the biggest achievement was having zero crime in the area.
The Minister for Defence, Joketani Cokanasiga was the chief guest.

He also acknowledged the untiring efforts of the men and women at the front line of policing and the unwavering support from the spouses, children and family members of all officers for their dedication and commitment.
“I fully understand the challenges and demands you all have to go through as you are being assessed on a daily basis,” Mr Cokanasiga said.
“I urge you to regard your achievement as a springboard in developing your efficiency and effectiveness as police officers.”
