The greatest lessons learned by adults are those learned from children, says Iliesa Tanivula.
Mr Tanivula, the Nadi rugby head coach, made the statement yesterday during Nadi Airport School’s prefects’ induction.
“This ceremony reminds me of an induction many years ago at Natabua High School when I was made a prefect and headboy of the school,” Mr Tanivula said.
“That day was one of the most important day in my life because I was not only aware of the heavy responsibility to perform well and provide leadership, but also of the trust vested in me by the students and teachers of my school.”
He told the prefects to uphold trust and responsibility which was a burden borne by every leader in society.
He said communication was the key to good leadership without compromising the principles and ideals each leader held dear.
David Wong was badged as headboy while Senia Mua as headgirl. Litia Tueli is deputy headgirl while Jonathan Tudreu is deputy headboy.

n Editors note: The headline in yesterday’s issue read ‘Natabua prefects reminded of role’. It should have been Nadi Airport. We sincerely apologise to the students, their families and the school for the typographic error.
