COCONUT WIRELESS
Water Authority:
We told people
Quick and commendable response from Water Authority of Fiji to yesterday’s item about the water supply problems in Delainavesi, Lami. Sheenal Sharma from the authority wrote to say:
“With regards to your piece on Coconut Wireless, let me inform you that affected residents were informed of water cuts:
– First prior to the disruptions and
– Second when time frame of the disruption was extended due to the burst main
– This was done through radio mentions, press releases and our social media page (attached are the press releases which were issued to the media). A press statement was also sent in last week stating the reasons for the recurrent disruptions.
“Most importantly, supply normalised on Saturday night– 15/2 and your edition was printed in today’s paper.”
Nothing new
Again it has changed. Inter-Island Airways (Fiji) Limited has now moved the start of its domestic services back to the end of March. This is the latest in a long list of changing dates.
Dickie Bird was told by a colleague from American Samoa, where the airline already operates, that such delays are nothing new.
Air
movements
Still on aviation, the operation of the locally owned Northern Air is now gaining momentum. Dickie Bird was told the airline will soon add three fast 18-seater Bandeirante turboprops to its fleet.
