Service and not privilege, is the emphasis of your work. The reminder was issued to prefects of DAV College in Ba yesterday during their induction ceremony.
School principal Sanjay Kumar told the new batch of leaders that prefects are senior students who are known to possess a high degree of commitment to the school’s values and ideals.
Therefore, they would be capable of shouldering more responsibilities in overseeing the specified tasks within the school’s operations.
“It is the responsibility of all prefects, whether detailed for duty or not, to see that school rules are obeyed and good standards of behavior are maintained at all times,” Mr Kumar said.
It was a proud moment for newly elected headboy Pritesh Bikash Chand and headgirl Reijeli Loma.
Chand stressed the importance of team work and the pivotal role that the Student Council would play in highlighting the concerns of students.
“Any team can fight against the odd circumstances which an individual may find it difficult to confront. If you want to reach the highest start from the lowest,” headboy Chand said.
Loma encouraged her peers not underestimate themselves.
“God created you as a unique human being so prove yourself that you can, you must and you will fulfill your dreams,” she said.
The duo will be assisted in their duties by first deputy headboy Timoci Lotu, second deputy headboy Shelvin Mani, first deputy headgirl Arishma Lata and second deputy headgirl Sonika Lata.
