Three Suva Volleyball Association teams face the chop after failing to turn up at the weekly competition.
Association technical adviser Iliesa Raketekete says women’s teams Qauia, Frontliners and Tamavua Bulls have not been attending the weekly competitions.
“We’ve heard that Qauia are having their own weekly competition in Qauia and will be forming a team for the Easter Championship,”Raketekete said.
“But performance at Suva weekly games have been outstanding and exciting.”
Last Saturday Tamavua Celtics won the Premier challenge after ousting holders Inner Circle 3-0. Celtics beat Sharks in the second challenge 3-1 and their final game was against Jammers which they won 3-0.
Suva now eyes the Vanua challenge which will start in Suva on Friday.
“Preparation is going on well for the Vanua Challenge and we know it will be tough.”
Raketekete confirms they will be announcing their second sponsor later this week.
