The Boxing Commision of Fiji will be discussing ways to improve their weekly programme in Suva.
This was after Uptown Boxing Club lodged a protest last Saturday.
UBC 60kg lightweight boxer Akash Kumar was declared the winner by default after Mesake Rasari of Jittu Boxing Club failed to turn up.
“We understand the disappointment raised by Uptown taking into consideration the preparation their boxer took to prepare for the fight,” BCF director, Malakai Veisamasama said.
Rasari turned up at the weigh-in but failed to turn up in the ring.
Meanwhile, the upset of last Saturday’s fight was during the 91+kg super heavy weight clash where Varasiko Saverio knocked out Jone Veitata of Jittu Boxing Club in the first round.
Josefa Ravudi Junior of Police Boxing Club won the middleweight (75kg) bout on unanimous points decision over Simione Feoko of Jittu Boxing Club.
“Ravudi continues to shine every week maintaining his unbeaten record and has grown from strength to strength due to the support of his father Jo Ravudi Snr,” he added.
Results:Welterweight (69kg); Lepani Levatia of Nadawa won on unanimous points over Aporosa Nainima (Jittu BC).
Welterweight(69kg); Winston Hill of USP BC KO Eparama Sigaturaga (JBC).
Middleweight (75kg); Josefa Ravudi won on unanimous points decision over Simione Feoko.
Super heavyweight (91+kg); Varasiko Saverio KO Jone Veitata of JBC.
