The 38th Fiji Bitter Marist 7s organising committee awaits word from the USA Falcons women’s team on their participation in the March 7-8 event.
Committee chairman Lawrence Tikaram, says the Falcons have declared their interest.
“We are awaiting confirmation from the Falcons,” Tikaram said.
The women’s teams who have confirmed their participation include Marist Seahawks, Sparkle Women, Ranadi Nadi, Central Chiefs, Striders and Atlantis USA.
Tikaram also confirmed that there are 85 registered teams in the main division but they will consider the first 64 teams who have paid their registration fees in full.
“We will not consider any more teams,” Tikaram said.
“This should be the lesson to team managers and management next year.”
The first 40 teams confirmed include defending champions Tokatoka Westfield Barbarians, Wardens Gold, Army Green, CK Ezy Buy Tabadamu, Lomaiviti Babas, First Landing Tale Babas, Police, Hideaway Hurricanes, Nawaka, Marist One, Two, Marist Three Serua, Uprising Rugby, St Theresa Rugby Savusavu, Laucala Beach, Shipping Services Suva Stallions, Babale, Vunisaiki Kula, Natewa, Coastal Sigatoka YB, Duavata Burerua, Wardens Green, Tauranga Qaliduna, Dominion Insurance South Sea Mariners, Fiji Bitter Mokani, Deuba rugby, Digicel Covenant, Delasui, New Born Waibasaga, Veivatuloa Blues (Namosi), Lalati Whaleys Bega, Uluinakau One, Uluinakau Two, Uluinakau Three, Nabua One, Nabua Two, Gumatua rugby club Levuka, Gusunawai Brothers Deuba, Vatukaloko, Express Ofiice, RFMF Two and Laucala Island (Laucala Island).
Meanwhile, Veivatuloa, Suva Oldies, Wardens Oldies,Yavato Qase Namosi, Fiji Bitter Mokani Oldies and Nawaka Broncos will take part in the Oldies division.
