Fiji drag racing champion Ravin Nath maintained his winning record yesterday.
This was after he won the Fiji Car Club first drag race in 2014 at the Taunovo Airstrip yesterday.
Nath clocked 10.72 seconds while Tauz Khan came second with a time of 11.02sec and Ravi Nair finished third on 11.05sec.
Abha Prasad won the ladies division clocking 17.17 seconds.
Fiji Car Club president, Raizal Haniff said their first competition was a success and they are hoping to get more cars in their next competition.
“We had a total of 33 cars and this is big for the first event of the year,”Haniff said.
“This is a positive sign as we build up for the season.
“We should be expecting eight more cars in our next tournament in April.
“It was a good battle between Ravin and Tauz but it was the experience that enables Ravin to win and continue his winning record for the ninth year.
“We had a good turnout and we hope the support will continue this year.”
The next race is on April 13.
