Former Fijiana coach Elenoa Kunatuba has officially signed a three-year contract with the Papua New Guinea Women’s Rugby Union.
The Semo, Nadroga native’s first task will be the IRB Women’s Series in Hong Kong.
“I’m very happy with my new contract and our long term goal is the 2016 Olympic Games,”Kunatuba said.
“Our short term target is to win gold at the 2015 Pacific Games as a host nation.”
Her love for rugby continues as she will continue to serve the Oceania region as the Oceania Region Women’s rugby development officer alongside her new role as the Papua New Guinea women’s coach.
Kunatuba was part of the Marist Sea Hawks at the 38th Fiji Bitter Marist 7s yesterday. She said it was important for her to return and do a proper handover to her very own Marist Sea Hawks Club.
“I’m here to support the girls and also to have a proper handover since it’s not good just to turn my back on them and leave,”Kunatuba said.
“My love for Fiji will always be there but this move is a positive move for me.”
Kunatuba led Fijiana to victory in the 2011 Pacific Games in Noumea.
She will leave for PNG on Monday.
