Newspaper seeks to be interesting, valuable and involve readers

Welcome to the first edition of your new-look Fiji Sun.

We are:

INTRODUCING the latest international design and typography in the biggest such upgrade by a Fijian newspaper.

The aim: Make your paper more modern, useful and easier to read

TAKING NOTE of what you have told us you want. The content of your paper is being made more informative and interesting for the fast changing, fast moving world today.

The aim: Be interesting. Be valuable. Seek constant reader involvement.

How did we do all this? We turned to an expert.

We brought in one of the foremost newspaper designers from Asia, Jai Kumar Sharma, of Asia Media Design.

He led this major change. At the same time he trained our staff how to implement it.

Mr Sharma’s credentials are impressive. He was a top editor on the world’s biggest English-language newspaper, the Times of India. He remains a consultant for the Times of India Group while running his own international design and newspaper development business from Delhi.

His reputation grows. His services are in increasing demand. Not just in India and across Asia but also in Africa.

We thank Mr Sharma for his total commitment to this project and the expertise he has brought to it.

All of us here at the Fiji Sun hope you like the changes you now begin seeing today. More will be rolled out progressively through this week.
