OFC launches Oceania Football Podcast

OFC Media and Communications is pleased to present the Oceania Football Podcast, the first of our regular audio updates from football in the pacific region.
Presented by OFC Head of Media and Communications Gordon Watson and guests Jacqueline Tran Van and Daniel Markham, Episode 1 of the Oceania Football Podcast reflects on the recent OFC U-20 Women’s Championship, looks ahead to the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica and then takes a look at the clubs competing in the forthcoming OFC Champions League Group Stage in Fiji from April 7-15 at Govind Park, Ba and Churchill Park, Lautoka.
“This is a first for the OFC and its a new media vehicle we hope can also reach football fans around the pacific via local radio stations.
“The content is free for our Member Associations to use to help promote football around the pacific and we hope that in time we can build a significant listenership,” says Watson.
Alongside the Oceania Football Podcast and OFC Insider Magazine, the OFC is also producing an E-Newsletter and a new Smartphone Application that will be launched just prior to the OFC Executive Committee meeting in Auckland on March 29.
The OFC Smartphone app will be viewable on smartphones from March 19 before becoming available for tablets.
“The media scene is changing rapidly and with football competing with other codes for mainstream space we have to be innovative in how we communicate with our stakeholders.
“The aim of the Oceania Football Podcast is to not only talk about the football activities in our competitions but to also highlight the confederation’s work in areas like Social Responsibility and Technical Development which so often get overlooked.
