The Fiji Rugby Union and their consortium of sponsors have a vision to make Fiji as a world leaders in global rugby.
This was revealed by union chairman, Filimoni Waqabaca last night during the launch of the sponsors’ naming rights to the union’s rugby products at Damodar City, Suva last night.
“Our vision is to be world leaders in rugby while our mission is to foster dynamic rugby environment, create sustainable vibrant and competitive rugby and promote the growth and development of rugby in Fiji,” Waqabaca said.
“We are committed to building a stronger and sustainable union with the goal of expanding rugby in Fiji as a national and unifying force through our sponsorship programme.”
The consortium of sponsors, Vodafone, Fiji Airways, CJ Patel Pacific Limited, Home Finance Company (HFC) Bank and Telecom Fiji Limited jointly put in $40 million to sponsor Fiji Rugby in the next five years. They announced their naming rights to the union teams last night.

Naming rights
Vodafone: Vodafone Fiji 7s team, Vodafone Flying Fijians, Vodafone Fiji Under-18, Vodafone Fiji U20.
Fiji Airways: Fiji Airways 7s team, Fiji Airways Flying Fijians.
CJ Patel Pacific Ltd: Skipper Tuna Cup
HFC Bank: HFC Bank Farebrother-Sullivan Trophy
Telecom Fiji limited: Telecom Fiji Warriors, Telecom Fijiana, Telecom Island Zone.
The consortium of sponsors were represented by Vodafone managing director Aslam Khan, Fiji Airways managing director and chief executive officer, Stefan Pichler, CJ Patel Pacific Limited Group marketing director, Nathan Hildebrand, HFC Bank chief executive officer, Isikeli Tikoduadua and Telecom Fiji chief executive officer, Mohitial De Silva.

Aslam Khan: “Vodafone has naming rights to the Vodafone National 7s team. We also have joint branding with Fiji Airways on the Vodafone Fiji 7s team jumper and naming and jersey branding to the Vodafone Flying Fijians.
Stefan Pichler: “We see our partnership with consortium members in Fiji Rugby as in investment in Fiji itself. We will be able to leverage one of Fiji’s greatest assets, our rugby players – for the benefit of Fijian tourism.”
Nathan Hildebrand: “Ongoing development is key, and CJ Patel Pacific, through one of our key brands – Skipper Tuna, is very excited to be part of the ongoing development. The National Provincial Championship is vital in providing a regular, highly competitive, and eagerly contested competition for provincial teams and coaches to test their abilities, hone their skills and continually improve.”
Mothilal De Silva: “We believe that the Telecom Fiji Warriors and Telecom Island Zone sponsorship will pave the way to uplift the standard of rugby in Fiji and groom players for national and international level. As a strong believer in gender equality, Telecom Fiji is proud to sponsor the national women’s team.
Isikeli Tikoduadua: “This championship (HFC Bank Farebrother-Sullivan Trophy) is the platform where the passion, commitment and determination of rugby is developed. This trophy is the pinnacle of rugby which paves the way for our players to step into international rugby.”
Guests included the Minister for Sport, Commander Viliame Naupoto, invited corporate guests and Fiji 7s coach Ben Ryan.
