At the grand finale of the Fiji’s Dancing Super Stars at the University of the South Pacific’s ICT centre last Saturday, John Peckham and Sharleen Ali were declared the show’s winners.
“I’m so thrilled to have won. I can’t express how great I am feeling. It’s an unbelievable situation for me,” Mr Peckham said.
He said he had put in his best in every performance and had a clear goal of winning right from day one.
“We both would like to thank everyone who voted for us and for their love and blessings.”
Mr Peckham dedicated his win to his late sister.
Ms Ali said the competition was very tough and it only pushed her to try harder in every episode.
“You feel like giving your best only when there’s tough competition,” Ms Ali said.
“Thank you so much, audience. Without you, we would have never reached this far. We are very happy and touched that our hard work has finally paid of in the biggest way.”
Sandeep Narayan Singh, of Ganesha Productions, said their electrifying dance moves and consistent performance won them the titles.
“The dancers were unbelievable and it was just breathtaking to watch all five of them,” Mr Singh said.
He said the dances were brilliantly choreographed and everything was just so precise; where the dancers stood and how they changed their movements was just very fascinating.
The event’s chief guest, Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, handed over $10,000 to the winning dancing duo.
