Spectators witnessed a unique final in the Indo 7s tourney at Churchill Park, Lautoka last Saturday.
This was after the Nakasi Highlanders and Uni Babas drew 5-5 after sudden death.
Highlanders defeated defending champions Wainivula Eels in the semifinal 5-0 to qualify while the Babas thrashed Ba 24-5.
Both Babas and Highlanders won $225 each.
Fiji Indo Rugby Union coordinator Solo Finau said the final match was exciting with as both teams equally matched.
Finau says the revival of Indo Fijian Rugby is well on track with nine teams participating.
“After two sudden death playoffs, teams were given the option of having a toss to decide the winner or share the prize money.
“Because the competition was held in partnership with the Veiyasana 7s, teams decided to share the prize.’’
Final also thanked the organisers of the Veiyasana 7s for inclusion of the Indo Fijian 7s competition.
