What happened: Striker Edwin Raju came off from injury to net two superb goals for Rakiraki yesterday.
The westerners edged Lami 3-2 in the Fiji Sun/Skipper Tuna Premier League match in Suva.
The win has strengthened Rakiraki’s chances of qualifying from the Viti Levu Zone for the Premier Division playoffs.
Lami took 2-1 lead at halftime.
Rakiraki has nine points from its four matches with three wins and a loss.

Comments: Rakiraki Football secretary Jay Krishnan is optimistic about their chances of playing in the top league.
“We are aiming to play in the Super Premier division next season,”Krishnan said.
“Our players are doing well and we need to keep this momentum going.
“It was a tough game against Lami as some of our players were carrying injuries after our win against Northland Tailevu.”
“Our players played according to plan and we were able to win the match,” Krishnan said.
“Our senior players Ili Gaunavou Junior, Edwin Raju and Jale Vota played key roles for the team and we are thankful for these players along with the young players for making the district proud,”
