Developments carried out by the Government in Naitasiri Province are expected to be one of the main issues discussed during the provincial council meeting at Vunidawa today.
This was confirmed by Assistant Roko Tui Naitasiri Seru Ratukalou.
“One of the main things that will be discussed in the meeting is the developments that are taking place; one of which is the upgrading of the Naqali Highway,” Mr Serukalou said.
He said the Provincial Administrator Naitasiri would discuss further developments.
Other projects expected to be discussed today’s meeting include the renovation of some schools within the province and the upgrading of the water supply and accessibility to grid extensions by the Fiji Electricity Authority.
Roko Tui Naitasiri JoeIi Navanikoso said the meeting would involve the appointment of sub-committee members from various districts in the province.
“The meeting will include the election of the financial, educational, health and development sub-committees from the different districts,” he said.
“We will review the agenda of our last meeting and discuss some matters that have been raised from the district meetings.”
Mr Navanikoso said the election of the sub-committees were also a vital part of the council.
“The sub-committees meet before the provincial council meeting to discuss matters raised by members of their different districts before these sub-committee members bring it in for discussion during the council meeting,” he said. The meeting will be opened by the Permanent Secretary for Rural and Maritime Development, Filipe Alivereti, at 9am today.
