The Methodist Church will use a dashboard information system that will allow its hierarchy to track information about activities carried out in divisions, circuits and individual churches.
This is in line with the implementation of the church’s Connexional Plan.
The church has hired Meli Nacuva as its Connexional Plan project manager to facilitate the pilot project.
He said divisional superintendents of the church would easily get a glance of how his division was performing and progressing in the activities its circuits and churches are involved in.
Mr Nacuva said this was because the biggest challenge for the church in implementing the system was making sure that data stored was both objective and subjective in nature.
“The church has gotten traditionialised; this would take time to adjust to because now everything has to be measured from meetings, rallies, etc, carried out in the church so that everything is quantified,” he said.
Mr Nacuva said the system would be beneficial for the church in making more informed decisions.
“It would help improve its ability to identify and correct negative trends, measure efficiencies and inefficiencies, generate detailed reports showing new trends, align strategies and organisational goal and gain total visibility of all systems instantly.”
