Fiji has become the 21st country member to join the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) after the signing ceremony by the Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation, Ratu Inoke Kubuabola in Seoul, Korea.
Fiji’s accession to the GGGI comes at an opportune time as the Bainimarama Government works tirelessly to formulate its own Green Growth Framework. With this new co-operation arrangement, GGGI can now assist Fiji in issues related to global climate change and the promotion of economic growth through development of strategies and policies for green growth such as sustainable, climate resilient and low-carbon economic development.
Experts at the Institute will provide support services to Fiji in its Green Growth efforts through collaboration with other global institutions.
The GGGI is an international platform for evidence-based learning and policy innovation. It was established in 2012.
