The Suva Primary Schools Netball Association is facing venue problems.
Association president Elenoa Vadei says the Under-9, U10 and U11 competitions did not take part in their weekly competition at the National Netball Centre yesterday.
“Only the U12, U13 and U14 grades participated,”Vadei said.
“We had our bookings from 12:30pm-3pm and there are so many teams in the lower grades.”
She said the lower grades will compete in the next round while the higher grades would take a break.
“We will have the lower grades competing at the Victoria Courts in week 12,” Vadei said.
She says they will run their normal programme from the second week of Term Two.
“Right now Suva Volleyball has booked the multi-purpose court.”
Despite the setbacks the association was impressed with the number of interests from schools this year. Six new schools, Holy Trinity, The Learning Centre, Indira Gandhi Memorial Primary, Annesley Infant Primary, Navesi Primary and John Wesley Primary joined this year.
The increase in the number of schools has also increased the number of participating teams to 110.
“We are looking forward to a great season this year.
“Our preparation for the IDC starts now and this year it will be hard to select the team because of the number of talents we have from the U9-U14,”she said.
