Despite the weather people turned up in large numbers to be part of the Westpac Morning Walk yesterday morning.
The walk is a quarterly event organised by Westpac Bank to promote awareness on the effects of non-communicable diseases.
Westpac’s head of marketing Nimla Nambia said she was delighted to see the large turnout.
“It’s a big turnout and I am happy to see families, young and old and even schools taking part in today’s (yesterday) event,” Mrs Nambia said.
Members of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces engineers, Police cadets from the Police Academy, girls of Ballantine Memorial School, staff of Fiji Sun joined the staff and many others in the morning’s health walk.
“Getting this turnout means people are becoming aware of NCDs and that is a positive sign.”
The next Westpac Morning Walk will be held on June 7.
