Lami 3 Northland Tailevu 1

What happened: Lami defeated Northland Tailevu 3-1 in the Fiji Sun/Skipper Tuna Premier League match at Buckhurst Park, Suva yesterday.
The win has resurrected Lami’s chances of winning the Premier League competition to secure a place in the Super Premier Division next season.
Former Labasa rep Rajnesh Davendra scored two goals for Lami and Shahil Nadan added another.
Lami led 3-0 at halftime.
Northland Tailevu came back in the second half to score their lone goal in the match, but poor finishing was Northland Tailevu’s downfall in the match.

Comments: Lami coach Riyaz Ali praised his players.
“We played well and I am satisfied with our players. It was the crucial game for us.
“We need to improve on our goal-scoring ability as we missed a lot of goals.”
