What happened:
Namosi is serious of winning the Skipper Cup as the side defeated Tailevu 27-12 at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori yesterday.
The side played like a well oiled machine to win at Tailevu’s home turf.
Vodafone Fiji 7s squad members Leo Nakasau and Rusiate Tadulala’s try set the momentum.

Star Turn:
Abele Yalayatabua was the star for Namosi scoring the brilliant runaway try in the second half to put the game beyond Tailevu’s reach.

Comments:
Namosi coach Timoci Wainiqolo praised his players.
“This is the second year we are playing in this top level provincial competition and our players are ready to make Namosi proud.
“Our aim at the moment is to reach the semifinal and winning the competition will be a history for us. Our players are ready for the challenge.”
Tailevu coach Inoke Male said his players played well.
“In the second half we made some mistakes which allowed Namosi to win the game.
“Our focus now shifts to the Farebrother-Sullivan Trophy competition as our chances of qualifying for the semifinal looks slim.
Namosi’s Nakasau, Tadulala and Timoci Vakadrau scored tries in the first half while Vilikesa Gasadrau scored the try for Tailevu as Namosi led 15-5 at half time.
In the second half, Yalayalatabua scored a runaway try with Panapasa Namoko scoring the final try.
Tailevu’s Sakeo Latianara scored the lone try in the second half.
The four –try bonus win for Namosi has strengthened their chances of qualifying for the semifinal.
