Macuata beaten 32-21 in the Skipper Cup competition at Subrail Park in Labasa yesterday.

What happened:
In the 16th minute, Northland’s fullback Tikilaci Vuibau kicked a penalty.
The first try to Northland was scored by Filimoni Malorua and the second by Paula Balekana which was converted by Vuibau.
In the 46th minute Malorua scored his second try for the visitors to lead 20-0 at halftime.
In the second half, Macuata scored their first try through Ratu Meli Vula who also kicked the conversion.
In the 54th minute, Macuata scored their second try through Sevina Nanuku and was converted by Vula.
Northland scored two tries with one being converted to lead 32-14.
Macuata had the last say with a try to Rupeni George which was converted by Vula. Fulltime: Northland 32-21 Macuata.

Comments:
Northland coach, Watisoni Ratulevu, said the game was good despite having some defensive lapses.
“We’re happy with the bonus win and we aim to score another big one against Tavua next week.”
Macuata Coach Sireli Vesikuru said they need to improve on their scrum.
“I was expecting to win this game but we will make sure we lift out performance against Nadi next week at Prince Charles Park.”
