Dance Fiji Dance (DFD) raised $370.30 in just two hours yesterday during a walk-a-thon for the Kidney Foundation of Fiji.
DFD president Ravi Malhotra said the walk from the Shop N Save Supermarket, Nakasi to Shop N Save Supermarket Valelevu went quite well.
“It’s a good cause and those who understood went ahead and put the word forward and came and supported this,” Mr Malhotra said.
He said he wanted to offer this assistance to kidney patients, in memory of his late father.
“The money collected will help kidney patients and their families who were finding it hard to pay for treatment.”
They were also trying to reach out to people to educate and share knowledge about the importance of a healthy lifestyle.
“The Kidney Foundation is a great organisation which is helping those with kidney diseases and we are grateful to be able to help them,” he said.
They intend to stage their annual show at the end of the year, with five per cent of the ticket sales going to the Foundation.
Last month Mr Malhotra had donated $1600 to the Kidney Foundation.
