The Ratu Kadavulevu School Under-18 rugby team received a timely boost ahead of the Eastern Zone secondary schools rugby union finals at Ratu Cakobau Park today.
NewNet donated a set of jersey and socks to the school which plays Queen Victoria School in the U18 final.
NewNet is a subsidiary company of Vodafone Fiji Ltd, the major operator of mobile services.
NewNet chief executive officer Winston Penjueli said they were honoured to sponsor the team.
“We wish the team the best of luck,” Penjueli said.
RKS principal Beniamino Tawake said the donation should boost the players.
“The players have been preparing well and we will give QVS a good game,” Tawake said.
The QVS-RKS match starts at 3:15pm.
Fixtures: 9am: U15 LMS-QVS, 11am: U16: St John’s Cawaci-LMS; 12:15pm U17: RKS-LMS, 1:45pm: U18: third/fourth play-off LMS-Navuso Secondary, 3:15pm: U18: QVS-RKS.
