Tebara Bus Tailevu will bank on the experience of captain Peni Tora in their Skipper Cup game against Tavua at Garvey Park today.
Tebara Bus Tailevu coach Inoke Male said the experience Tora brings will be an advantage for the side in their next two games.
“Our last two games are crucial for us,”Male said.
“And having Tora to be part of the team will be an added boost as he brings experience and leadership qualities to the side which is what we need at the moment.”
Tora left for France in 2008 to join Arras Rugby Club and has since returned due to family commitments.
He has played for the side in their last two games against Namosi where they lost 27-12 and last weekend against Ovalau winning 23-16.
In Tebara Bus Tailevu’s game against Ovalau, they were not consistent with their performance in the first half and Male said this time round their attitudes needs to change.
“Last week we were not fully there in the first half. We only won the game during the second half which is not on. The boys need to work really hard and play a full 80 minutes against Tavua.” he said.
The side will be missing three players Seru Ravuilaki, Aisea Druma and Sam Bainivalu who are all injured.
Meanwhile, Tavua will aim to end their losing streak and coach Akariva Tabutaci hopes he sees a different side today.
“We didn’t have a good game last week and hopefully improve on our performance against Tailevu.” he said.
Tebara Bus Tailevu currently sits in seventh place with 19 points while Tavua is in last place with six points.
The game kicks off at 3pm at Garvey Park, Tavua.
