Competition
for Damodar
Damodar Village Cinemas will soon have competition on their hands. We hear that a number of cinemas to be managed by other companies are either already in the pipeline or have been planned for the West and Central divisions.
Village 4 will likely have competition from a cinema said to be coming up in TappooCity Lautoka mall.

MUGABE TYPE MOVE HERE?
Is it true that someone in a political party which has been cited for claims in a meeting that freehold land can be converted to native lease has a certain foreign land decree? This one is said to have been controversially used by Robert Mugabe in Zimbabwe to seize land from the country’s white farmers.
Rumour mills are working overtime these days claiming that this is in fact happening in Nadi. The piece of land through which someone apparently plans to score votes through taking back is on Denarau. Should people be worried by those involved?

A DUTY ON BOATS
So we hear that some people have been going overseas to have boats built and are bringing those boats back on 5 per cent duty, after claiming that they cannot be built here.
Well, we seem to have some very irritated boat builders in Fiji who claim that people who do this are cheating the system. Certain boats recently built overseas for locals can in fact be built here, they say. Should someone be in hot water?
