Students of Kalekana Community Preschool in Lami would soon have access to safe toilet blocks after the community received a $3000-donation from Fiji Gas yesterday.
The donation was to assist the preschool in completing the construction of its toilet block.
Preschool teacher Vosa Maretina said it was the first time a private company had donated to the school and they were very thankful.
“We are so thankful to them for investing in the benefit of our children; it really means a lot,” Ms Maretina said.
She said previously the 34 children of the school had to use the village community hall toilet which created inconvenience for both teachers and the students.
Ms Maretina said they were also thankful to Save the Children Fiji for assisting them to secure the much- needed assistance.
