Suva will be out to maintain their unbeaten record as they face Labasa this weekend in Suva in the Fiji Sun/Skipper Tuna National Football League.
Suva coach Gurjit Singh could not express enough just how important this game is to them.
“We have been preparing pretty well and I have told the boys and they know how important this game is because Labasa is not an easy team,” he said.
“There are no injuries from our last game and all the boys are fit to play this weekend and keep our unbeaten record.”
Banking on their last meeting during the Vodafone Fiji FACT when they met Labasa in the semifinals and beat them 2-1, Singh said they only managed to beat Labasa but they needed to work harder.
“We have met Labasa before in the Fiji FACT and we barely won, so we know that they are not an easy team to play.” he said.
Suva will be playing not only to remain unbeaten but to qualify for the Oceania League tournament as only the two top teams will qualify to play.
On the other hand, Labasa will be out to break Suva’s unbeaten record and Labasa Football Association president Rayaz Khan said the boys had been training hard.
“We want to break Suva’s record as we know that they are unbeaten.” he said.
The kick-off between Suva and Labasa will be at the ANZ Stadium, Laucala Bay at 3pm, Sunday.
