Students of St Joseph’s Secondary School won the audiences’ hearts in a two-hour musical extravaganza during their annual concert at the Civic Auditorium in Suva last night.
School principal Sister Genevieve Loo said the students gave out a simple but compelling message that each person had a role to play and become an agent of change for others by taking responsibility within them.
“This year’s theme is: ‘Be the change within: Let us together strive to create a rainbow community of service in love.’
She said it took them six months to come up with the theme for the concert which about 570 students would have an opportunity to interpret.
“We have been having this concert since 1996 and we are really happy that many families and friends come to watch this enjoyable entertainment,” Sister Loo said.
She said the girls were given an opportunity to use their creativeness and imagination to come up with an item based on the theme.
The tickets for the concert are selling at the school for $6 for the first two nights and $8 for the final night.
The concert ends tonight.
