Koronivia Duck farmer Rahul Sundar, 36, says his business is improving in terms of the revenue he has received from sales.
Mr Sundar’s duck farm shed was funded by the Ministry of Rural and Maritime Development’s Self-Help Project at a cost of $10,400.
He now has 400 ducks and has already sold about 40 ducks at the Nausori Market with male ducks costing $40 and female ducks for $20.
“I had applied for assistance in 2013 and it was approved in January this year; two-third was provided by Government and I contributed one-third for the shed.
“My duck shed has helped me to increase the productivity and earn more revenue,” he said.
Principal agriculture officer Rewa Josefa Suka said: “He will continue to provide us with a 12-month report regarding the outcome and the achievements of the farm.”
