A 27-year-old man on Tuesday changed his plea after he informed the court that he had spoken with his lawyer.
Krishneel Deepak Kumar who is alleged to have stolen items worth more $11,400 appeared before Magistrate Hettiwattege Somaratne.
He is alleged to have stolen a blue liteace vehicle worth $10,000, $300 cash, a Kenwood amplifier $800, a woofer worth $300 and a pioneer radio worth $300.
Kumar had pleaded guilty on Monday and when he reappeared in court on Tuesday he informed the court that he wished to change his plea to not guilty. He claimed that he had liaised with a lawyer and was advised to change his plea to not guilty.
He appeared in person.
All the items were recovered except for the $300 cash.
The case has been adjourned to August 4 for mention and Kumar has been further remanded in custody.
