Former Fiji Rugby Union operations manager Vilikesa Rinavuaka’s case has been adjourned to October 3, 2014.
Rinavuaka who is charged with one count of manslaughter appeared at the High Court in Suva for sentence hearing yesterday before Justice Salesi Temo.
He had pleaded guilty to causing the death of his two- year-old daughter on the June 30, 2012 in an incident involving a motor vehicle.
Last month, Rinavuaka informed Justice Temo that he would like to terminate Nepote Vere’s services as his lawyer.
He said he wanted to represent himself and had waived his right to a lawyer.
This decision, he said, was out of his own free will.
Justice Temo said lawyers and prosecutors were there to take care and assist the trials.
“Some of them come here and push their ideas down our throats,” Justice Temo said.
He said they had so many cases and they were given only minutes and that was why it was important to give their best shot.
Rinavuaka’s bail has been extended.
