The 2014 Coke Zero Deans Under-18 semifinals should be an exciting encounter at the ANZ Stadium today.
Queen Victoria School will take on Lelean Memorial School at 2.30pm while NewNet Ratu Kadavulevu School will take on defending champions Ratu Navula College at 3.50pm.
Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby secretary Elemaca Ravulo said that the clash would be tough to predict.
“We are expecting tough games because they have been preparing well for this day,” he said.
“The team that plays the full 80 minutes with discipline will win. I urge fans of secondary schools rugby, parents and old scholars to come down and support their sons or schools. But at the same time I am requesting the players and spectators to adhere to the rules of the game.”
After beating Marist Brothers High School 30-32 in the quarterfinals last week, LMS will rely on past losses to Queen Victoria School to push them through as stated by their principal Ledua Colati.
“QVS will be a formidable opponent but the challenge for Lelean will be to break the losing streak and use the challenge as a motivating factor.” he said.
While Lelean are focusing on past losses to help them through today, NewNet Ratu Kadavulevu is taking each game as it comes and preparing accordingly, said their principal Beniamino Tawake.
“We should be ready physically, psychologically and spiritually for the game. Training had been going very well and we should be alright come game day as all the teams are ready and looking forward to the semifinals.”
NewNet RKS qualified for the semifinals after thrashing Suva Grammar School 48-17 last weekend and is only school that is being represented in the semifinals from the U14 to the U19.
The semifinals will commence at 8.40am.
U14: QVS-Natabua Highl, MBHS-RKS; U16 Natabua High-RKS; U17 MBHS-RKS; U19 LMS-Lomaivuna Secondary;, U18 QVS-LMS; RKS-Ratu Navula College.
