Queen contestant, 21-year-old Sovaia Adivulivosa (pictured) is all about taking care of the environment.
The Naigani, Lomaiviti lass, who has maternal links in Wainunu, Bua, is one of the ten contestants vying for the Vodafone Festival of the Friendly North crown.
“I always have a passion for the environment and I can’t wait for the start of the event so that I can advocate on what I’m passionate about; the impacts of coastal erosion,” Miss Adivulivosa said.
“With the festival theme, ‘Our Environment, Our Future’, it really matches with what I’m advocating.
“Coastal erosion is real; for us who stay in the urban areas we don’t really feel it but coastal villages feel this change every day,” she said.
Miss Adivulivosa, who is a Police officer by profession, said they travelled a lot in their work.
“With this profession I get to travel a lot so I get to see coastal erosion that is evident around our coastal villages,” she said.
