There will be more clean-up at the iTaukei Land Trust Board (TLTB) and the Lands Department.
This was revealed at Korovisilou Village in Serua by the FijiFirst party leader and Prime Minister, Rear Admiral (Retired) Voreqe Bainimarama, during the party’s election campaign yesterday.
He said most of the people who had been removed were now number one enemies of the Government.
“Many have joined other political parties and were feeding wrong information to the people,” he said.
He said the clean-up at the two departments would continue until Govenment was sure no staff worked for the interest of some only.
Mr Bainimarama said that some staff were not happy with the reforms carried out and they were holding things back.
“We want all the staff to be on the same page and those on a different page must change.
“More will be done to clean up the two offices,” Mr Bainimarama said.
The Prime Minister confirmed that about 20 staff members from TLTB had recently been fired because they were involved in some illegal activites. These people, he said, had put a bad image on TLTB.
The Prime Minister said there were many complaints sent to his office on the poor services in the two offices. He said there were people missing from their work stations and the public were not given the services required.
He said he had been meeting with the staff to make improvements on their services as the minister responsible.
“Both departments must improve their services,” he said
He said some staff members had fallen short of their obligation to the people to discharge their duties with the highest level of honesty and integrity.
He said FijiFirst championed the truth and faithfullness in all work areas.
