The final touches to the Natadola Bay Championship Golf Course are nearing completion to host the inaugural Fiji International from August 14-17.
The major tournament is the first of its kind in the South Pacific sanctioned by PGA Tour of Australasia and OneAsia.
PGA staff is making sure that the greens are in shape also with the fairway at greatest length.
Pathway for golfers to follow from hole to hole has been completed.
Marks have been notified via ropes to avoid a mishap either via a golf cart or someone walking on foot. A big scoreboard had also been built including billboards and signages.
Spectators’ seatings have been built near certain designated holes to give fans the best action during the tournament.
The event will see national golf rep Sam Lee, who will be the lone local amateur, playing alongside some of the world’s best professional golfers.
Former world Number One, Fijian Vijay Singh, three time major champion (the PGA Championship twice and The Open Championship in 1994) Nick Price, India’s Number One Anirban Lahiri, Australia’s Matthew Griffin, Brendan Jones, and Australia’s rising stars including Dimitrios Papadatos, Jake Higginbottom and Jack Wilson are some of the big names in the tournament.
