We should be the agents of change to others so that we can always be a message of hope.
These were the comments of 25-year-old Stella Vuli Makereta Rogoyawa, who is a queen contestant in the 2014 Vodafone Festival of the Friendly North. The Moala, Maloku, Lau native who is a Police officer is sponsored by the Public Service Commission.
She said every youth could bring change to their lives.
“Youth development is one of my key focuses. Being a Police officer, I had seen troubled youths go in and out of the station, so I want to advocate on the platform to get youths to be more involved in events like this festival.
“As the theme of the festival is “Our Environment, Our Future,” I have drawn up my own topic that will suit youths at a community level and it’s called ‘Secure Environment for a Secure Future’.
Miss Rogoyawa said a contestant would be the voice of the people during the festival. “Being a contestant is not about you, it is about the people because we voice out what people face on a daily basis.” The festival will start on August 23.
