About 500 people took part in the Sports World, Courts Fiji Ltd and FIJI Water charity fun run in Suva yesterday. Parents and children started their fun run from Damodar City in Raiwai and finished at Albert Park in Suva.
Participants were awarded prizes such as mobile phones, smart phones and Puma sports gear from Sports World.
Hibiscus Festival public relations officer Lice Movono-Rova says the fun run encouraged people to be active.
Free health check-ups and Zumba exercise were also conducted.
“The main idea of this fun run was to encourage families and friends to come out in numbers to celebrate,” Mrs Movono-Rova said.
“We were excited about this fun run initiative as this was a good build-up to the upcoming festival.
“This year’s festival will be exciting,” she said.
Meanwhile, the 2014 Vodafone Fiji Hibiscus Festival, which will be held at Albert Park in Suva from August 15-23 was officially launched last night at Albert Park, Suva.
