Nabua Secondary School Under-19 will mean business as they get ready to play their first match today in the Vodafone Fiji Secondary Schools Inter-District Competition (IDC) in Ba.

It will be Nabua Secondary School’s first time competing in the tournament and head coach Hirdesh Prasad said they had prepared well.

“We have prepared well and we are here to learn from the other schools since this is the first we are competing in such a competition.” Prasad said.

Their first game will be against Nadi College.

“We are anticipating a tough game and we will try our best to give them a good challenge. I am certain they will do well because they have played friendly games against Nasinu Under-20, Gospel High School and Suva Teachers Club.”

Prasad said the team has few students who had been playing rugby at schools competitions.

“The team we have is very confident and eager to play and fitness is really good. We have some of our rugby players playing in the team and they have fitted in really well and gelled with the rest of the boys.”

Nabua Secondary is in Pool D with Labasa Muslim College, Nukuloa College, Nadi College and Baulevu High School.

Nabua’s first game against Nadi College kicks off at 2pm today at the Fiji Football Association Academy in Ba.
