Nomination form changes

Political parties called in saying that they have received calls from the Supervisor of Elections on Wednesday on sudden changes to the nomination form.
The Supervisor of Elections, Mohammed Saneem, clarified that there were only slight changes.
He said the initial nomination form had 25mm by 25mm picture requirement and signature by the party’s president.
“There were small changes to the nomination form and we had corrected it by asking them to submit a 2.5inch by 2.5inch passport photo rather than the initial 25mm by 25mm and to get the signature from the party leader as per the decree requirement,” Mr Saneem said.
When asked whether the deadline for the submission of nomination would be extended because candidates were all over the country campaigning, Mr Saneem replied with a ‘No.’
“There would be no extension because so far none of the parties have filed in their nominations,” Mr Saneem said.
“The deadline of 12pm on Monday would remain as per the writ.”
