The Fiji 7s rugby team had a scrimmaging session with Kenya in Nanjing, China yesterday.

Coach Sale Sorovaki said the scrimmaging session with the Kenyans went well and the boys enjoyed it.

“The boys started a little slow but found their flow in the second half,”he said.

“Fiji plays Kenya on Tuesday and that was a chance of gauging our opponents.

All boys are injury free and are ready for action come Sunday. Fiji plays Japan at 2:30pm and USA at 9:30pm on Sunday.

Rugby will make its much-anticipated Olympic stage return after a 92-year absence on Sunday.

According to IRB.com Nanjing will be the first time that rugby 7s has appeared on the Olympic programme and 144 players will participate across the six men’s and six women’s teams over four days (17-20).

Japan, France, Argentina, Kenya, Fiji and USA comprise the men’s competition, with Canada, China, Spain, Australia, Tunisia and USA competing for honors in the women’s event.
